When will His Dark Materials season 2 come to HBO Now?

The final episode of His Dark Materials season 1 just aired on HBO Now and on HBO in different countries worldwide. But, when will the second season of His Dark Materials come to HBO?

In the first season of His Dark Materials, we meet Ruth Wilson in the role of Mrs. Coulter, James McAvoy as Lord Asriel, and Dafne Keen in the role of Lyra. These are the three most vital characters in the show, but we are also introduced to and follow many other people.

When will His Dark Materials season 2 arrive?
One of the actors and interesting personalities in His Dark Materials season 1

If you have ever seen the movie named The Golden Compass, you will know much of the storyline of His Dark Materials. But, the first season consists of eight episodes, all lasting for approximately 56 minutes. So, this is a much longer version of the very same story. And much more important, it will not end with the very interesting end of season 1.

What happened at the end of His Dark Materials season 1?

Throughout the first season, we have always been told that Lord Asriel is good and Mrs. Coulter is bad. But, when the season comes to an end, we might still agree about the fact that Mrs. Coulter might not be the best, but we also get a clear understanding of the fact that Lord Asriel isn’t only good either. Sacrificing a kid is a sacrifice few would be people to carry out, but it seems as if Lord Asriel was willing to do so.

And then, not only did Lord Asriel walk through the “gate”, but the boy from the normal world also passed through the “world-gate”, and Lyra also followed in the footsteps of her father Lord Asriel. So, we have three people who have just taken steps into a different world, which means everything should be ready for season 2. But, when can you and I stream His Dark Materials season 2 on HBO? And, how is it even possible to stream HBO and HBO Now abroad?

How did I like His Dark Materials season 1?

I have got to admit that I was positively surprised by the series itself. It wasn’t a new favorite of mine, but still, I enjoyed every single episode, and it had a great tensity to it. My palms didn’t sweat, but I was always curious to discover what would happen next and how the season would end. It is packed with creative thoughts and solutions from Lyra, and there are lots of sudden turns and surprising elements making the story come even more to life. One example of such a surprising element to the story is the end in which Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) turns out to be a not-so-nice-person after all.

I didn’t expect him to be the best example of a father ever, but as the first season comes to an end, I have my doubts about whether he is better than Mrs. Coulter at all? That is actually quite nice, as it is always more exciting to watch something you cannot 100% predict beforehand. As a consequence, this is not like all those low-budget Christmas movies on Netflix. Instead, this is high quality when it comes to production, sound, acting, and everything. It might be too scary for those under 10 years of age, but those older might find this to be fantastic.
